Meet the child
Nikita has a Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Because of muscle weakness progression, the boy has started to develop a clear scoliosis problem. The scoliosis progression has been quite rapid. Spinal surgery is vital for Nikita. Without surgery the scoliosis will progress and cause problems. Operations on patients with the Duchenne muscular dystrophy are successfully carried out in the clinic ORTON (Finland). Our fund has paid for the pre surgical consultation for the boy and doctor Heikki Esterman is ready to operate on the boy. The cost of high-tech operation and transportation costs are 43 277 euros.
