Matvey Shavlovskiy

   In October 2022, Matvey's mother discovered a rocky density in the form of a large tumour on the right scapula. The boy maintained an active lifestyle without any restrictions, and there were no complaints from him. The doctors were confused because the tests and X-ray were good. During this time, the tumour started to move: shoulder, neck, head. After examinations at the Children's Regional Hospital, the RNPC of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology, as well as genetic analysis, Matvey was diagnosed with progressive ossifying fibrodysplasia, an active phase with multiple foci of fibrodysplasia and large heterotypic ossifications of the chest and back. 

   This is an extremely rare, severe and steadily developing genetic disease, which is characterized by «ossification» of muscles, tendons, ligaments and subcutaneous tissues - that is, ossification of the connective tissues of the body. Consequently, the disease, like that of Matvey, is called «rock body syndrome» or «second skeletal disease». Only one person out of two million is diagnosed with this rare disease.

   The only remedy that can assist Matvey is Tofacitinib. This remedy prevents muscle hardening and purification by suppressing the production of inflammatory mediators and dependent genes in the articular tissue. Tofacitinib is recommended for the boy to take 5 mg, 1 tablet in the morning and 1 tablet in the evening every day for a long time. A year requires a total of 10 packages.
