Pericardial sarcoma is an extremely rare tumor with poor prognosis. In August 2016, Maxim suddenly lost consciousness, a survey revealed a tumor in the heart.
At the beginning Maksim was treated in the "Center of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology" (Borovliany). He recieved twenty blocks of chemotherapy, surgery was made. But, unfortunately, the tumor could not be stopped. Since March 2018, it began to progress again. Maksim was consulted by the best experts, who decided not to operate on the boy due to the high risks. The disease is so rare that at the moment the experts are unable to offer any adequate therapies as further treatment. Proton beam therapy it is recommended. Specialists of the Dr. Berezin Medical Center, St. Petersburg, Russia, are wating a young man for treatment.
