Parents` letter (10 December 2012)
Dear representatives of the "Chance" Foundation. Our family is appealing to you for a financial assistance in the operation at the Center of New Medical Technologies in Tula.
Our son Daniil is 9 years and he suffers from the cerebral palsy (spastic diplegia grade 2-3).
My pregnancy was hard, I was constantly in the hospital. Two previous pregnancies ended in preterm delivery at 22-23 week. From the very beginning our countless days, weeks and years of struggle for the child's life have started. From an early age to this present day thanks to the work of doctors and teachers we were able to achieve such success. Daniil reads well, enjoys math and other classes. From spring to late autumn he cyclies, goes to the swimming pool, and is engaged in hippotherapy. My heart is torn by the fact that he, in his 9 years, is well aware of the fact that he cannot walk alone. He keeps on telling us what would happen when he learns how to walk (I will be playing football, shopping etc).
The first operation in Tula took place in 2007 and gave its positive effect. But in 5 years Daniil grew strongl and we were recommended to do the surgery in the spring to form an independent walking. Daniil tells thousands of kind words to me, dad and sister. A very kind and gentle heart of Daniel warms our souls and easies our experience with his illness.
We are very grateful and touched by your concern and care for children. Please help our Daniil to take the first steps to his dream.
