Meet the child
In September 2022, Denis will turn 3. In appearance, this is an ordinary, affectionate little boy with big blue eyes, only a little sad.
Deniska was born with a rare pathology - he has no left ear. The diagnosis of the baby sounds like "Atresia of the external auditory canal and microtia of the auricle of the 3rd degree, conductive hearing loss of the 4th degree on the left." In simple terms, the boy has no auricle and ear canal on the left. Moreover, his ear canal is completely covered by the skull bone.

Now Denis does not speak and hears only with his right ear, but not all sounds. In addition, he has impaired binaural hearing: he does not understand where the sound comes from, especially in noisy places. When Denis is on the street, at a distance of 3 meters he no longer hears his mother calling him. If there are a lot of sounds around, he gets lost and confused, it is hard for him to isolate the desired sound from the general rumble. The kid determines the source of the sound visually, which creates a danger for him: he may get lost in noisy places or not hear the noise of an approaching car. All this affects the development of the child's speech and auditory perception. Therefore, it is extremely important to have an operation to restore hearing with the opening of the ear canal at an early age so that the brain learns to compare sounds from both sides and Denis does not lose the ability to hear naturally. Unfortunately, such operations are not carried out in Belarus.

In the American clinic Global Hearing INC in the State of California, operations are performed to restore hearing and reconstruct the auricle in one stage for children from 3 years old. Clinic specialists have been performing such operations for more than 25 years. There is a unique experience and positive statistics. The probability of stenosis (narrowing) of the ear canal is less than 2%.
Based on Denis's CT scan and audiogram, the American clinic gives good prognosis and puts 8 points out of 10 on successful hearing restoration. This will allow Deniska to restore his natural hearing to normal, start talking and adequately perceive the world around him!

Let's help Denis hear this world the way we hear it!
