Bogdan is 12 years old. The boy is one of triplets and, unfortunately, immediately after birth, faced a number of complex diagnoses that required diagnostics and comprehensive hospital treatment. In 2011, Bogdan was diagnosed with JRA with systemic onset, the disease did not respond well to drug therapy, and specialists tried to find the optimal treatment to help the child go into remission. In spring 2018, Bogdan's hearing began to noticeably decrease.
The multiplicity and progression of the pathological symptoms with the involvement of many organs and systems, as well as the impossibility to determine a diagnosis, made it necessary to conduct a complete autoimmune testing. The child underwent a genetic analysis, a "complete genome sequencing" panel. The funds for the examination of Bogdan were transferred by the permanent partner of the fund, Belgazprombank.
Today doctors note that Bogdan is in high risk of the amyloidosis associated with a congenital autoimmune disease. Amyloidosis is a systemic damage of the body caused by the deposition of a special substance amyloid (protein-polysaccharide complex) in the tissues. The disease has a potential threat of the boy's life, as it can lead to functional damage of vital organs and systems.
